Candidate Pay Rate: $70 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Deliver compassionate psychiatric nursing care across the lifespan using the nursing process: assess, diagnose, plan, implement, evaluate
- Coordinate and direct nursing care based on standards of practice to achieve the best patient outcomes
- Administer medications and treatments safely and interpret basic EKGs as needed
- Document patient care clearly, accurately, and timely in the medical record
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure continuity and cost-effective care
- Provide patient, family, and caregiver education with cultural sensitivity
- Supervise and mentor Psychiatric Technicians on duty to maintain a high standard of care
- Serve as a clinical resource and respond appropriately in emergent or complex situations
Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Alaska in good standing
- Completion of a nursing program from an NLN-approved institution
- Current BLS certification required
- Preferred: 1 year of experience in a healthcare setting as a Registered Nurse
- Ability to pass and maintain required competencies and position-specific screenings
- Comfortable with independent decision-making and flexible scheduling
- Basic EKG skills and medication administration experience
Education
- Completion of a nursing program from an NLN-approved institution
Knowledge & Skills
- Nursing assessment, care planning, care implementation, and care evaluation
- Medication administration and basic EKG interpretation
- Strong documentation practices and medical terminology
- Care management, continuity of care, and nursing process theory
- Cultural competency for working with diverse patient populations
- Basic computer and office equipment skills
- Effective oral and written communication and collaboration with teams
- Supervisory skills for overseeing Psychiatric Technicians
