Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist residents with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming) while preserving dignity
- Support safe mobility and transfers, using proper body mechanics and assistive devices
- Provide compassionate, attentive care tailored to each resident's needs
- Monitor residents’ condition and communicate changes promptly to licensed staff
- Document care and observations accurately and on time to support continuity
- Help create a warm, social environment — engage residents in meaningful conversation and activities
Qualifications
- Valid GNA (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) certification
- Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to pass facility background checks and any required health screenings
- Compassionate, patient-focused attitude and strong teamwork skills
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an accredited GNA program
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of basic resident care and ADLs
- Familiarity with infection control and safety procedures
- Strong communication and observation skills
- Ability to document care clearly and follow care plans
- Team-oriented mindset and ability to work in long-term care settings
