Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist patients with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming) with compassion and dignity
- Perform routine vital sign checks and document observations accurately
- Support safe patient mobility and transfers, using proper body mechanics and equipment
- Observe and report changes in patient condition to the nursing team promptly
- Maintain a clean, safe, and respectful patient environment
- Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary staff to deliver coordinated care
- Contribute to accurate charting and handoffs to ensure continuity of care
Qualifications
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification (required)
- Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or able to obtain
- Valid state authorization to work as a CNA (Pennsylvania certification preferred)
- Reliable overnight availability for the assigned shift
- Strong communication skills and a compassionate approach to patient care
- Prior long-term care or skilled nursing experience is a plus
Education
- High school diploma or GED required; active CNA certification required
Knowledge & Skills
- Foundational knowledge of basic nursing care and infection control practices
- Comfortable taking and documenting vital signs and intake/output
- Ability to assist with ADLs and basic patient mobility
- Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work well within a team
- Basic charting skills; willingness to learn facility documentation systems
- Attention to detail and a commitment to patient safety
