Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour day shifts, 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM, 7 on / 7 off rotation; rotates every other weekend, no on-call

Candidate Pay Rate: $60 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Verify and enter medication orders accurately in the EMR, ensuring patient safety
- Perform final dispensing checks on all medication orders and complete required documentation
- Supervise technical support personnel and pharmacy technicians in drug preparation and distribution
- Review and monitor override reports and other medication safety reports to identify and resolve issues
- Adjust dosing as needed for vancomycin and renal-dosed medications in collaboration with the care team
- Support decentralized pharmacy operations across the unit and help optimize medication workflow
- Use Meditech EMR effectively to document interventions and coordinate care
Qualifications
- Active Pharmacist license with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy (required)
- Proof of completion of a 20-hour ACPE-accredited sterile compounding course, or an attesting letter from your university/college
- Prior hospital pharmacy experience, ideally at least 2 years
- Experience with decentralized pharmacy practice and medication dosing adjustments (vancomycin, renal)
- Familiarity with Meditech or similar EMR systems
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong medication order verification and dispensing expertise
- Solid knowledge of sterile compounding principles and documentation
- Ability to review and interpret override and safety reports
- Supervisory and teamwork skills to lead technical staff and collaborate with clinicians
- Competence in Meditech EMR workflows and pharmacy informatics
- Clinical dosing knowledge for antimicrobial and renal adjustments
