Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate direct care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living
- Take and record vital signs accurately and report relevant changes to nursing staff
- Support safe mobility and fall prevention by helping with transfers and ambulation
- Assist with meal service and feeding, honoring dietary needs and preferences
- Document care activities clearly and communicate effectively with the care team
- Build trusting relationships with residents and families, promoting dignity and respect
Qualifications
- Active CNA certification (Certified Nursing Assistant) appropriate for practice in Maine or eligibility to obtain state certification quickly
- Current BLS/CPR certification preferred or ability to obtain upon hire
- Comfortable working in long-term care or rehabilitation settings; travel experience a plus
- Strong interpersonal skills, reliability, and commitment to resident-centered care
Education
- High school diploma or GED required; completion of an approved CNA training program and certification required
Knowledge & Skills
- Practical knowledge of resident care and ADLs
- Ability to take and interpret basic vital signs
- Good documentation and communication skills with care teams and families
- Familiarity with infection control and safety procedures
- Empathy, patience, and attention to detail in daily resident interactions
