Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate direct care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living
• Take and record vital signs accurately and report relevant changes to nursing staff
• Support safe mobility and fall prevention by helping with transfers and ambulation
• Assist with meal service and feeding, honoring dietary needs and preferences
• Document care activities clearly and communicate effectively with the care team
• Build trusting relationships with residents and families, promoting dignity and respect

Qualifications

• Active CNA certification (Certified Nursing Assistant) appropriate for practice in Maine or eligibility to obtain state certification quickly
• Current BLS/CPR certification preferred or ability to obtain upon hire
• Comfortable working in long-term care or rehabilitation settings; travel experience a plus
• Strong interpersonal skills, reliability, and commitment to resident-centered care

Education

• High school diploma or GED required; completion of an approved CNA training program and certification required

Knowledge & Skills

• Practical knowledge of resident care and ADLs
• Ability to take and interpret basic vital signs
• Good documentation and communication skills with care teams and families
• Familiarity with infection control and safety procedures
• Empathy, patience, and attention to detail in daily resident interactions
