Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform CT exams with and without power contrast injections following radiologist protocols
• Prepare and position patients safely, including transfers and transport, while monitoring condition
• Start IVs and administer contrast media when appropriate, observing all safety protocols
• Optimize technical factors (kVp, mA, time, distance) and use dose-sparing practices
• Operate and adjust CT equipment and gantry settings to achieve diagnostic images
• Archive and document patient images and reports accurately in HIS/RIS and PACS
• Communicate clearly and professionally using SBAR and AIDET for handoffs and patient interactions
• Maintain infection control and sterile technique, and follow HIPAA and safety policies
• Mentor and precept students from affiliated Radiology Technology programs

Qualifications

• Washington State Radiologic Technologist Certification (required)
• Registered ARRT RT(R) (CT) — CT registration required
• Ability to complete Samaritan CT modality orientation prior to independent practice
• Minimum hospital experience preferred (at least 2 years preferred)
• Basic Life Support (Healthcare Provider) to be completed within three months of hire
• Comfort with patient handling, IV starts, contrast administration, and PACS/HIS/RIS workflows

Knowledge & Skills

• Computed Tomography (CT) imaging and protocol execution
• CT contrast administration and power injector knowledge
• Proficiency with PACS, HIS and RIS systems and image archiving
• Patient positioning, safe transfer and movement techniques
• Radiation safety principles and dose optimization
• Infection control and sterile technique
• Strong communication skills including SBAR and AIDET
• Ability to troubleshoot and adjust technical equipment settings
