Roles & Responsibilities

• Manage ventilators and deliver expert ventilator care for critically ill patients
• Perform ABG analysis from arterial lines and sticks to inform treatment
• Administer nebulizer treatments and other respiratory therapies safely and effectively
• Assist with intubations, codes and rapid responses as a reliable team member
• Assess patients’ respiratory status and develop timely interventions
• Document care accurately in the unit EMR and communicate changes to the team
• Collaborate closely with nurses, physicians and other clinicians to optimize outcomes
• Support and mentor colleagues when needed to maintain high-quality care

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of respiratory therapy experience (explicit requirement)
• Proven critical care and ventilator management skills (must-have)
• Strong patient assessment skills (must-have)
• Experience performing ABGs, nebulizer treatments, and assisting with intubations
• Comfort working in a busy unit—likes to be busy and is a team player
• Experience with Servo and 840 ventilator equipment and familiarity with Meditech is preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Ventilator management and troubleshooting (Servo, 840 noted on unit)
• ABG interpretation and clinical application
• Nebulizer and other respiratory treatment modalities
• Intubation assistance and participation in codes/rapid responses
• Critical care patient assessment and prioritization
• Team communication and interdisciplinary collaboration
• Familiarity with Meditech EMR (preferred)
