Roles & Responsibilities

• Operate and manage the daily workflow of the women’s health section of radiology, ensuring high-quality mammography services.
• Perform mammography exams per department protocols and in collaboration with radiologists for diagnostic interpretation.
• Provide compassionate patient education, verify identity with two forms of ID, review medical history, and obtain informed consent.
• Maintain accreditation records and structured reporting for audits, statistical tracking, and quality improvement.
• Complete daily QA and preventative maintenance scheduling, troubleshoot equipment issues, and coordinate service calls when needed.
• Practice radiation safety and ALARA standards to protect patients and staff.
• Document clinical information and charge capture accurately in the EHR, ensuring all prior studies and paperwork are available.
• Assist with cross-training, mentoring, and clerical support as needed to keep the clinic running smoothly.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technologist program.
• ARRT registration in Radiology (R) and Mammography (M) required.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.
• Must be at least 18 years of age (21 if position requires driving) and legally authorized to work in the U.S.
• Successful completion of background check, pre-employment drug screen, and any required Employee Health clearance.
• Preferred: Two years of prior experience as a practicing Radiologic Technologist; cross-training in CT, MRI, and DEXA a plus.

Education

• Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technologist program
• ARRT (Radiology R) and ARRT (Mammography M)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) - current or obtained within 90 days of hire

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of mammography imaging procedures, FDA mammography guidelines, and departmental protocols.
• Experience with equipment operation, troubleshooting, and manufacturer-recommended maintenance.
• Familiarity with PACS, RIS, HIS and electronic health records for image management and documentation.
• Skilled in patient education, informed consent, and maintaining patient confidentiality.
• Quality assurance (QA) experience, accreditation record keeping, and structured reporting for audits.
• Commitment to radiation safety principles (ALARA) and safe infection control practices.
