Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate oncology nursing care to adult surgical and oncology patients
• Administer treatments and medications accurately, including chemo-related therapies when certified
• Assess patients regularly and escalate changes to the interdisciplinary team
• Document care thoroughly in Cerner to maintain seamless continuity
• Perform and assist with unit procedures such as pelvic exams, echoes, and thoracentesis as needed
• Support unit staffing needs on nights and weekends with a team-player attitude

Qualifications

• Active RN license (required)
• BLS certification (required)
• Chemo certification (preferred) — candidates with this will be considered first
• Minimum 2 years clinical nursing experience (as listed in the posting)
• Comfort with oncology/Women’s surgical patient populations and typical med-surg equipment
• Ability to work night shifts and scheduled weekends; dependable and team-oriented

Knowledge & Skills

• Experience with Cerner EMR documentation
• Oncology clinical knowledge and familiarity with chemo-related care (preferred)
• Strong assessment and critical thinking skills for med-surg/oncology patients
• Comfort performing or assisting with procedures like echoes and thoracentesis
• Ability to manage patient ratios typically around 1:4 or 1:5
• Excellent communication and collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams
