Roles & Responsibilities

• Treat patients as directed by the supervising Physical Therapist, delivering compassionate, hands-on care
• Record daily treatment notes and weekly progress notes in compliance with PT board requirements
• Assist in maintaining and cleaning the treatment area to ensure a safe therapy environment
• Participate in patient care and rehabilitation conferences to coordinate interdisciplinary plans
• Train and support restorative aides and caregivers to extend therapy gains into daily care
• Communicate patient progress, issues, and plans clearly with supervisors and the wider healthcare team
• Report equipment problems and coordinate maintenance so therapy can continue uninterrupted
• Provide patient, family, and nursing education to support successful discharge and home programs

Qualifications

• Active Licensed Physical Therapy Assistant in the State of California, license must be kept in good standing
• Proficiency with electronic medical records, specifically Casamba and PointClickCare
• Demonstrated ability in direct patient care and treatment documentation
• Willingness to participate in required continuing education to meet state requirements
• Strong communication skills for interdisciplinary collaboration and patient education

Education

• Licensed Physical Therapy Assistant (state licensure required)

Knowledge & Skills

• Direct patient care techniques and therapeutic interventions
• Treatment documentation and progress note best practices per PT board
• Electronic medical record proficiency, including Casamba and PointClickCare
• Interdisciplinary communication and teamwork
• In-service training delivery and caregiver/resident training
• Basic equipment maintenance and safety reporting
