Roles & Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process and critical thinking to assess, plan, intervene, and evaluate patient care in the Cath Lab
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments safely and in accordance with hospital policies and state practice acts
• Perform and interpret EKGs and support cardiovascular interventions with clinical precision
• Develop, initiate, and execute individualized patient plans of care in collaboration with physicians and the interdisciplinary team
• Ensure all documentation is accurate, comprehensive, and meets system and entity standards
• Provide clear, compassionate patient and family education tailored to each patient’s level of understanding
• Participate in department performance improvement, shared governance, peer review, and evidence-based practice updates
• Support other units/departments as needed and escalate patient safety concerns through the appropriate chain of command

Qualifications

• Active IL RN licensure (IDFPR) required
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program; education verification required
• Current CPR certification and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required
• National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
• Successfully pass an EKG test prior to completion of orientation
• Minimum 3 years of RN experience with at least 1 year of critical care experience
• Cardiovascular intervention / Cath Lab experience required
• Experience in a Level 1 Trauma Center is highly desirable

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program
