Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess patient condition and needs through thorough, evidence-based evaluations
• Plan individualized care that promotes recovery, safety, and dignity
• Implement nursing interventions and coordinate with the care team
• Evaluate patient responses and adjust plans to achieve the best outcomes
• Provide clinical leadership to the patient care team on your assigned shift
• Document care accurately in the Cerner EMR to ensure continuity
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams
• Contribute to a positive patient experience and uphold high standards of care

Qualifications

• Active Illinois RN license documented in Nursys (must state Active)
• Minimum 3+ years of Med Surg clinical experience required
• Current American Heart Association BLS required
• ACLS (AHA) required within 30 days of start
• Completed Skills Checklist (current to 1 year) pertinent to Med Surg
• Two supervisory reference forms completed with dates employed
• Complete work history and required submission documents
• Applicants with a permanent address within 50 miles of the facility are not eligible
• Applicants who were direct employees within the last 2 years are not eligible

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong Med Surg clinical skills: patient assessment, care planning, implementation, and evaluation
• Clinical leadership and the ability to guide and support nursing teams
• Proficient documentation and charting in Cerner EMR
• Comfort managing acuity across a diverse patient population
• Effective communication and interdisciplinary collaboration
• Ability to work nights and adapt to a fast-paced hospital environment
