Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on therapeutic interventions and assist patients with mobility and functional goals
• Implement treatment plans under the direction of a licensed PT and document patient progress accurately
• Support gait training, transfers, therapeutic exercise, and use of assistive devices
• Educate patients and families on home programs, safety techniques, and fall prevention
• Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care
• Maintain equipment, ensure a safe treatment environment, and follow infection-control policies
• Contribute to a positive patient experience by delivering compassionate, patient-centered care

Qualifications

• Licensed or license-eligible Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) — Tennessee licensure preferred
• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
• Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification required or obtainable prior to start
• Current immunizations and ability to pass required background and health screenings
• Previous experience in inpatient, skilled nursing, or outpatient rehab settings is a plus

Education

• Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in therapeutic exercise, gait training, transfers, and use of common modalities
• Strong clinical documentation skills and comfort with electronic medical records
• Excellent communication and patient education abilities
• Ability to work independently while following PT-directed plans of care
• Good time management, organization, and teamwork skills
