Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Primarily day shifts with a rotating schedule. 12-hour day shifts: 6:00 AM - 6:30 PM; 10-hour day shifts: 8:00 AM - 6:30 PM; 9-hour day shifts: 9:00 AM - 6:30 PM. Typical expectation is approximately 36-40 hours per week plus call. Days: primarily weekdays with scheduled weekend call approximately every 4-5th weekend. Overnight on-call approximately every 1-2 weeks. Shift type: Day (rotating with occasional overnight on-call).

Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality surgical nursing care for pre-op, intra-op and post-op patients
• Perform thorough patient assessments and monitor clinical status to ensure safe outcomes
• Coordinate care with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and multidisciplinary teams to streamline patient flow
• Manage inpatient care needs and respond promptly during call shifts, including overnight and weekend coverage
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient progress clearly and accurately in the medical record
• Maintain competency through Trinity specialty testing and skills checklists to deliver excellent care
• Ensure adherence to infection control, safety protocols, and facility licensure requirements

Qualifications

• Valid RN license (state license required) — current and in good standing
• BLS certification required
• NIHSS certification required
• Experience in surgical nursing and inpatient care preferred
• Comfort with call rotation, including overnight and weekend on-call responsibilities
• Successful completion of facility-required verifications and health screenings

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong surgical nursing skills including perioperative and postoperative care
• Skilled in patient assessment, monitoring, and rapid response to changes in condition
• Familiarity with inpatient workflows and interdisciplinary communication
• Ability to manage call duties and triage effectively during overnight or weekend coverage
• Proficient documentation and electronic health record use
• Knowledge of infection prevention, PPE use, and standard precautions
