Roles & Responsibilities
- Coordinate and deliver nursing care for long-term care residents using evidence-based practices
- Perform thorough nursing assessments, document findings, and update care plans in the EHR
- Administer medications accurately and manage age-specific therapeutics
- Provide leadership on shift: delegate, supervise CNA/LPN staff, and act as charge nurse when needed
- Teach and support residents and families to promote understanding and coping
- Respond calmly and make sound clinical decisions in emergency situations
- Participate in interdisciplinary care coordination and transcribe physician orders accurately
- Complete mandatory trainings, competency checks, and participate in unit quality initiatives
Qualifications
- Active Alaska RN license required
- Registered Nurse (RN) experience in long-term care (LTC) settings preferred
- Must provide 2 fingerprint cards upon acceptance
- Flu vaccination required
- Demonstrated ability to lead a unit/serve as charge nurse and supervise support staff
- Comfortable with nursing documentation in an EHR and standard long-term care procedures

- Clinical assessment and nursing process expertise
- Medication administration and safe medication practices
- Nursing documentation and electronic health record (EHR) proficiency
- Care planning and goal-oriented, individualized resident care
- Patient and family teaching with strong communication skills
- Infection control and adherence to state reporting guidelines
- Delegation, supervision, and unit leadership skills
- Emergency response and sound clinical judgment under pressure
