Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality critical care to patients in a four-bed open ICU, following AACN standards
• Coordinate and deliver patient-centered nursing care across pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations
• Continuously monitor telemetry and interpret data to detect and respond to changes in patient status
• Administer treatments, medications, and interventions safely and competently
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and support staff to develop and execute individualized care plans
• Respond rapidly to emergencies and assist with critical procedures as needed
• Maintain clear, accurate documentation and support smooth transitions of care
• Champion patient and family education, comfort, and advocacy throughout the hospitalization

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) licensure (state licensure requirements apply)
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience with demonstrated critical care experience
• Proven ability to read and interpret telemetry
• Familiarity with AACN Standards of Care and critical care best practices
• Willingness and ability to complete credentialing requirements and upload documents three business days prior to start
• Comfort working nights in a small, high-acuity critical access hospital environment

Education

• Completion of an accredited nursing program (diploma/ADN/BSN) and RN licensure

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong telemetry monitoring and cardiac rhythm interpretation skills
• Critical care assessment and intervention expertise
• Skilled in patient care coordination and multidisciplinary collaboration
• Ability to adapt care across pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations
• Effective clinical documentation and communication abilities
• Calm decision-making under pressure and strong emergency response skills
