Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform phlebotomy and specimen collection with accuracy and compassion
- Prepare, label, and transport lab samples following clinic and lab protocols
- Assist clinic staff with routine clinical procedures and patient prep
- Maintain clean, safe, and organized lab workspaces and supplies
- Communicate clearly with patients and clinical teams to ensure smooth workflow
- Support quality control and follow chain-of-custody procedures for specimens
- Travel between assigned clinics as needed to provide consistent lab coverage
Qualifications
- WA State Medical Assistant certification (required)
- Phlebotomy certification (required)
- American Heart Association BLS card (required)
- Comfortable traveling to and covering multiple clinic locations in the Mt Vernon area
- Professional, patient-focused attitude and strong communication skills
- Ideally local or relatively local to Mt Vernon to support multi-site coverage
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Medical Assistant training or certificate preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Proven phlebotomy and specimen collection techniques
- Familiarity with lab labeling, handling, and chain-of-custody best practices
- Strong patient interaction and bedside manner
- Ability to follow clinic protocols, infection control, and safety procedures
- Reliable time management and the ability to adapt between clinic sites
