Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform phlebotomy and specimen collection with accuracy and compassion
• Prepare, label, and transport lab samples following clinic and lab protocols
• Assist clinic staff with routine clinical procedures and patient prep
• Maintain clean, safe, and organized lab workspaces and supplies
• Communicate clearly with patients and clinical teams to ensure smooth workflow
• Support quality control and follow chain-of-custody procedures for specimens
• Travel between assigned clinics as needed to provide consistent lab coverage

Qualifications

• WA State Medical Assistant certification (required)
• Phlebotomy certification (required)
• American Heart Association BLS card (required)
• Comfortable traveling to and covering multiple clinic locations in the Mt Vernon area
• Professional, patient-focused attitude and strong communication skills
• Ideally local or relatively local to Mt Vernon to support multi-site coverage

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Medical Assistant training or certificate preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Proven phlebotomy and specimen collection techniques
• Familiarity with lab labeling, handling, and chain-of-custody best practices
• Strong patient interaction and bedside manner
• Ability to follow clinic protocols, infection control, and safety procedures
• Reliable time management and the ability to adapt between clinic sites
