Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, age-specific emergency nursing care using the nursing process
• Perform rapid patient assessment and triage to prioritize care in time-sensitive situations
• Administer medications safely using the 7 Rights and document thoroughly
• Respond effectively to emergencies using ACLS/BLS/TNCC/PALS/ENPC skills when needed
• Educate patients and families on plans of care and discharge instructions
• Maintain confidentiality and follow HIPAA and hospital policies at all times
• Participate in professional development, competency validation, and unit-based committees
• Contribute to resource stewardship by using supplies and equipment efficiently

Qualifications

• Current Colorado RN license OR valid multistate RN license through the Nurse Licensure Compact
• Minimum 2 years of emergency department nursing experience
• Required certifications: American Heart Association BLS and ACLS; PALS; CPI; TNCC/ATCN; ENPC
• Recommended certifications: CEN and NIHSS (nice-to-have, but not mandatory)
• Up-to-date immunizations and TB screening (QuantiFERON required)
• Negative 10-panel drug screen and acceptable criminal background/OIG checks as required
• Completion of required OSHA and regulatory training; skills/competency assessment on hire

Education

• Graduate of an accredited or state board approved Registered Nursing program
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong emergency nursing skills across pediatrics to geriatrics
• Excellent patient assessment, critical thinking and rapid decision-making
• Medication administration and IV/acute care competency
• Clear, compassionate patient and family education and communication
• Familiarity with HIPAA/privacy requirements and accurate clinical documentation
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
