Shift Type: 12-hour Night shift (exact start/end times not specified) — primary night schedule with flexibility to work day shifts, weekends and holidays as needed. Rotating/night coverage; occasional weeks up to 48 hours. Holiday coverage required (Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's RTOs are not acceptable).

Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, evidence-based critical care to adult ICU patients
• Serve as Charge Nurse when assigned — lead the unit, coordinate patient flow, and support staff
• Monitor and manage ventilators, hemodynamics, and conscious sedation patients safely
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists and the interdisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes
• Perform timely, accurate documentation and handoffs to ensure continuity of care
• Mentor and support colleagues to foster a positive, learning-focused environment
• Respond rapidly and effectively to emergent situations and code responses
• Adhere to infection control, safety protocols and hospital policies at all times

Qualifications

• ICU Registered Nurse experience with a minimum of 2 years recent specialty experience in ICU
• Demonstrated Charge Nurse leadership experience
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications (American Heart Association) and Conscious Sedation certification required or obtainable
• Comfortable working 12-hour shifts including nights, weekends and holidays
• Ability to be flexible — shift needs may change and coverage is sometimes required

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong critical thinking and assessment skills for high-acuity patients
• Proficient in ventilator management and hemodynamic monitoring
• Skilled in sedation monitoring and airway management
• Excellent communication and team coordination abilities
• Able to prioritize, triage and manage multiple complex patients
• Familiarity with electronic medical record documentation and accurate charting
