Shift Type: 12-hour night shifts; typical schedule alternates: 36 hours one week and 48 hours the next. Nights as primary assignment with required flexibility for occasional day shifts, weekends and holidays. Up to 1 on-call shift per week. Specific clock-in/out times are assigned by the facility and may vary.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, compassionate nursing care to adult geriatrics and pediatric patients on a 20-bed medical-surgical unit
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care while maintaining excellent documentation
• Administer medications and treatments safely following facility protocols and standards
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to support positive patient outcomes
• Float to other departments as needed and competently take on patient loads or task-oriented duties when assigned
• Assist with flu immunization clinics and other public health initiatives as requested
• Attend required staff meetings and participate in unit-based activities to support continuity of care

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
• American Heart Association BLS required
• ACLS required
• PALS required
• Minimum three (3) years med-surgical nursing experience
• Minimum one (1) year pediatric nursing experience
• Comfortable and competent caring for both adult geriatrics and pediatric patients
• Ability to work 12-hour night shifts and be flexible for additional shifts, weekends, holidays, and occasional float assignments

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong med-surg clinical skills and pediatric care fundamentals
• Patient assessment and triage abilities
• Familiarity with inpatient nursing workflows and staffing ratios
• Competence in medication administration and IV therapy
• Comfort working in immunization clinic settings when assigned
• Good communication, teamwork, and time-management skills
• Willingness to learn facility-specific EHR and documentation systems
