Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, person-centered care to geriatric residents including assistance with daily living activities
- Assist with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility to preserve dignity and comfort
- Monitor residents’ condition and promptly report any changes to nursing staff
- Support safe transfers and positioning, following proper body mechanics
- Document care, meals, and observations accurately and timely
- Collaborate with the care team to promote a positive, respectful environment
Qualifications
- Current GNA certification (required)
- Ability to work the 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM shift reliably
- Comfortable assisting with activities of daily living and safe resident handling
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
- CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- Clear background check and any facility-required screenings
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an accredited GNA program or equivalent training
Knowledge & Skills
- Basic clinical skills: taking vital signs, assisting with ADLs, observation
- Infection control and proper PPE use
- Safe resident handling and transfer techniques
- Accurate documentation and basic charting skills
- Compassionate bedside manner and strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to follow care plans and escalate concerns appropriately
