Roles & Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the Central Sterile Processing department to ensure safe, effective cleaning, disinfection and sterilization of reusable instruments and equipment
• Lead, coach and supervise Central Sterile staff — provide training, retraining and in‑services to maintain high competency
• Manage inventory, material resources and distribution to support Surgery and other hospital areas
• Collaborate with Infection Control, Risk Management and Safety to enforce policies, procedures and standards
• Ensure departmental compliance with accreditation, regulatory and manufacturer/FDA recall processes
• Maintain accurate patient charge documentation for Central Sterile-processed items
• Monitor industry trends and implement emerging best practices and technologies to improve processes

Qualifications

• 3+ years of Sterile Processing experience — required
• 1+ year of Supervisor/Leader experience — required
• HSPA (IAHCSMM) certification — required
• BLS (AHA) certification — required
• Candidates must be local/close to Lima, OH — required
• Ability and willingness to float to other units within your scope of practice
• Strong communication, team-building and numeric skills
• Basic computer skills; familiarity with MediTech a plus
• Profile requirements on submission: recent work history and a skills checklist current to 1 year

• Comprehensive knowledge of Central Sterile department processes and standards
• Cleaning, disinfection and sterilization techniques for surgical and medical instruments
• Staff management, supervision and performance coaching
• Inventory and material resource management

• Attention to detail for patient charge accuracy and documentation
