Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate hands-on care for geriatric residents, supporting dignity and comfort
• Assist with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming and mobility
• Monitor resident condition and report changes promptly to the nursing team
• Support safe transfers and fall prevention efforts using proper techniques
• Document resident care accurately and timely to keep the care team informed
• Engage residents in meaningful conversation and activities to promote wellbeing
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary staff to deliver person-centered care

Qualifications

• Current GNA certification (required)
• Previous experience working with elderly or long-term care residents is a plus
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Ability to pass background check and drug screening as required by facility
• Strong communication skills and a positive, team-oriented attitude

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited GNA program

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of geriatric care principles and common age-related conditions
• Comfortable assisting with ADLs and using safe patient handling practices
• Basic charting and documentation skills
• Ability to follow care plans and report clinical changes accurately
• Compassion, patience and strong interpersonal skills with older adults
