Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, person-centered care for geriatric residents, helping with activities of daily living
• Assist residents with bathing, dressing, toileting, mobility, and feeding while preserving dignity
• Monitor residents vital signs and report changes promptly to nursing staff
• Document care accurately and timely in facility records
• Support infection control and safety practices to maintain a clean care environment
• Collaborate with nurses, therapists, and care team members to deliver coordinated care
• Engage residents in meaningful conversation and activities to support mental and emotional well-being

Qualifications

• State GNA certification or equivalent (Maryland certification preferred or eligible)
• Current CPR/BLS certification or willingness to obtain
• Ability to pass background check and meet facility immunization requirements
• Comfortable working overnight shifts and providing hands-on resident care
• Strong communication and teamwork skills with a resident-first attitude

Education

• High school diploma or GED
• GNA certification or completion of an approved nursing assistant program

Knowledge & Skills

• Experience with geriatric care and understanding of common age-related conditions
• Skilled in safe resident transfers, mobility assistance, and falls prevention
• Competent in taking and recording vital signs and observing clinical changes
• Familiarity with basic documentation and charting practices
• Empathy, patience, and strong interpersonal skills when working with residents and families
