Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on nursing care to residents and patients during the PM shift
- Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely
- Assess and monitor patient condition; report changes promptly to the care team
- Document assessments, interventions and patient responses clearly in the medical record
- Collaborate with RNs, CNAs and interdisciplinary staff to deliver coordinated care
- Support patient and family education, promoting comfort, dignity and independence
- Maintain a safe, clean environment and follow infection control best practices
Qualifications
- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) — current, active license (Maryland license strongly preferred for this assignment)
- Graduate of an accredited LPN/Vocational Nursing program
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred or obtained upon hire
- Comfortable working the 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM shift and adaptable to facility scheduling
- Strong communication skills, attention to detail and a patient-first attitude
Education
- Graduate of an accredited LPN/Vocational Nursing program; High school diploma or equivalent
Knowledge & Skills
- Solid knowledge of medication administration and documentation practices
- Fundamentals of patient assessment, vital sign monitoring and wound care
- Familiarity with infection control, safety protocols and resident/patient rights
- Ability to use electronic health records and complete accurate charting
- Team collaboration, time management and the ability to prioritize in a busy setting
