Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist residents with daily living activities including bathing, dressing, toileting, and mobility
• Monitor and record vital signs and any changes in resident condition accurately
• Provide compassionate, person-centered care that preserves dignity and promotes independence
• Support nursing staff with feeding, repositioning, and safe transfers
• Document care and observations clearly in resident charts and communicate concerns to the team
• Engage residents in social interaction and meaningful activities to enhance quality of life

Qualifications

• Current GNA (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) certification required
• CPR/BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain upon hire
• Ability to pass background check and meet facility immunization requirements
• Strong communication skills and a patient, respectful approach to elder care
• Comfortable with physical aspects of the role, including transfers and assistance with mobility
• Positive attitude and willingness to be a team player in a fast-paced care environment

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent; GNA certification required

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of basic geriatric care principles and resident-centered practices
• Skill in measuring and recording vital signs accurately
• Ability to assist with activities of daily living safely and respectfully
• Familiarity with basic documentation and reporting procedures
• Strong interpersonal skills for working with residents, families, and interdisciplinary teams
• Basic infection control practices and attention to resident safety
