Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate hands-on care to geriatric residents, helping with daily living activities
• Assist with bathing, dressing, grooming, feeding, and mobility in a respectful manner
• Monitor residents for changes in condition and promptly report concerns to nursing staff
• Support safe transfers and ambulation, using proper body mechanics and assistive devices
• Document care provided accurately and maintain confidentiality of resident information
• Build trusting relationships with residents and families to promote dignity and comfort
• Collaborate with the care team to follow individualized care plans and facility policies

Qualifications

• GNA certification or equivalent credential relevant to geriatric care
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR certification preferred
• Previous experience caring for elderly patients or in long-term care settings is a plus
• Ability to pass background check and meet facility onboarding requirements
• Strong communication skills and a patient-centered attitude
• Up-to-date immunizations as required by facility policy

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Completion of an accredited GNA program or equivalent preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of basic geriatric care practices and common age-related conditions
• Skill with safe resident handling, mobility assistance, and infection control
• Ability to observe, document, and report changes in resident status
• Compassionate interpersonal skills and cultural sensitivity
• Time management and the ability to prioritize resident needs during a shift
• Familiarity with electronic charting or willingness to learn facility systems
