Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, resident-centered care to older adults with dignity and respect
• Assist residents with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting) to promote independence
• Monitor and record vital signs, intake/output, and any changes in condition with accuracy
• Document care activities and observations clearly in resident charts and handoffs
• Communicate effectively with nursing staff, families, and interdisciplinary team members about resident needs
• Maintain a safe, clean environment and follow infection control and safety protocols
• Support mobility and fall-prevention efforts, using safe lifting and transfer techniques
• Participate in care planning and contribute observations that improve resident outcomes

Qualifications

• Current GNA certification or completion of a Geriatric Nursing Assistant training program
• CPR/BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain upon hire
• Comfortable working overnight shifts and supporting a geriatric population
• Ability to pass background checks, drug screen, and TB testing as required
• Compassionate attitude, strong communication skills, and reliable work ethic

Education

• High school diploma or GED
• Completion of a Geriatric Nursing Assistant program or equivalent training

Knowledge & Skills

• Familiarity with activities of daily living (ADLs) and resident hygiene care
• Basic vital signs and observation skills with strong attention to detail
• Knowledge of infection control practices and safe handling techniques
• Good documentation and time-management abilities
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with residents and families
• Ability to work collaboratively within a nursing team and follow care plans
