Location: Brooklyn Park, MD
Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: Night shift, 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM NOC; exact days of week to be confirmed with scheduler (schedule varies)
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $20 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate hands-on care to geriatric residents, treating each person with dignity and respect
- Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, feeding and mobility
- Monitor and record vital signs, reporting changes to the supervising nurse promptly
- Help with safe transfers and use of assistive devices to reduce fall risk
- Document resident care accurately and timely in the facility records
- Support mealtime needs and ensure comfort and hydration during night hours
- Communicate effectively with interdisciplinary team members and participate in shift handoffs
Qualifications
- Current Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) certification required
- Valid state GNA/CNA license if applicable and ability to meet state requirements
- Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening
- Comfortable working independently overnight and as part of a team
- Previous long-term care or geriatric experience is a plus
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- GNA certification required
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of geriatric care principles and common age-related conditions
- Familiarity with activities of daily living assistance, transfers and safe patient handling
- Basic skills in taking and recording vital signs
- Understanding of infection control and safe hygiene practices
- Strong communication, empathy and observational skills
- Ability to document care accurately in the resident record
