Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare and dispense medications accurately under pharmacist supervision
• Maintain precise medication records and ensure inventory accuracy
• Assist pharmacists with filling orders, labeling, and packaging
• Follow medication safety protocols and maintain a clean, compliant workspace
• Support medication distribution workflows in a correctional healthcare setting
• Communicate clearly with the healthcare team to help deliver safe patient care
• Participate in stock management and restocking to avoid shortages

Qualifications

• Previous pharmacy technician experience preferred
• PTCB certification or state pharmacy technician certification preferred or willing to obtain
• Comfortable working in a correctional facility and able to pass background checks and required screenings
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established protocols
• Good communication skills and a teamwork mindset
• Ability to stand for extended periods and manage medication handling tasks

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent required; pharmacy technician certificate preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Familiarity with pharmacy dispensing practices and inventory control
• Experience with medication labeling and recordkeeping
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with electronic medication systems
• Understanding of pharmacy safety, sanitation, and infection control
• Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
