Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver hands-on therapeutic interventions under the direction of the supervising physical therapist to help patients regain mobility and independence
• Collaborate with PTs and the interdisciplinary team to develop, document and adjust treatment plans based on patient progress
• Assist with patient assessments, therapeutic exercises, gait training and functional mobility activities
• Educate patients and families on home exercise programs, fall prevention and safe movement strategies
• Maintain clear, timely and accurate clinical documentation in the patient record
• Ensure equipment is safe and properly maintained and that treatment areas are clean and organized
• Contribute to a positive patient experience by demonstrating empathy, professionalism and strong communication

Qualifications

• Current Physical Therapy Assistant license or certification in Tennessee or compact authorization where applicable
• Graduation from an accredited PTA program
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required or must be obtained prior to start
• Comfortable working in a skilled nursing/long term care or outpatient rehab setting
• Positive, team-oriented attitude and strong patient communication skills
• Ability to commit to the contract dates starting 2025-12-29 through 2026-03-28

Education

• Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid grasp of therapeutic exercise, mobility training and modalities commonly used in rehab
• Skilled in patient transfers, gait training and safe use of assistive devices
• Strong clinical documentation and charting practices
• Ability to adapt treatment plans based on patient response and safety considerations
• Time management and prioritization skills in a fast-paced clinical environment
• Clear verbal and written communication with patients, families and clinical team members
