Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality care to an assigned group of Med/Surg patients
• Lead the team when assigned as charge nurse, supervising LPNs, NAs and other RNs
• Coordinate patient care, including assessments, care plans and transitions
• Administer medications and treatments safely and document care accurately
• Communicate effectively with patients, families and the interdisciplinary team
• Participate in quality improvement and regulatory compliance activities to keep care standards high

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license from the State of Illinois
• BLS and ACLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of clinical nursing experience
• Experience as a charge nurse or in supervisory roles is a plus
• Comfort supervising and collaborating with LPNs and nursing assistants

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN)

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong Med/Surg clinical assessment and clinical judgment skills
• Ability to lead and delegate in a small-hospital setting
• Excellent communication and patient advocacy skills
• Proficient in medication administration and documentation best practices
• Adaptability in a close-knit, fast-paced Critical Access Hospital environment
