Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts, day and night coverage (specific start/end times vary by schedule and will be provided by the facility)

Candidate Pay Rate: $42 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on nursing care to long-term care residents, supporting both basic and some acute needs
- Perform ADLs including bathing, grooming, dressing, feeding assistance, and ambulation support
- Obtain and record vital signs, pulse oximetry, intake/output and other routine observations
- Assist with patient transfers and safe lifting techniques to maintain resident safety
- Collect and transport specimens and assist with Point of Care testing as directed
- Perform 12-lead ECGs and participate in telemetry monitoring when assigned
- Document resident care accurately and report changes promptly to licensed nursing staff
- Maintain infection control practices and keep resident rooms and common areas clean and safe
- Provide 1:1 observation when needed and assist with resident transport and admissions/transfers
- Participate in cross-training, precepting, and unit performance/process improvement efforts
Qualifications
- Current full, unrestricted CNA license in the state of Alaska (required)
- Current BLS certification (required)
- Must submit two fingerprint cards upon acceptance
- 1 year prior experience as a CNA preferred
- Ability to lift and safely transfer non-ambulatory residents on a regular basis
- Willingness to complete unit-specific courses (e.g., POC/waived testing) and telemetry/ECG training as needed
- Comfortable accepting delegation from licensed nurses and working in a fast-paced environment
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong patient care and communication skills with residents and families
- Proficient in taking and documenting vital signs and observations
- Experience with ADLs, feeding assistance, ambulation and resident hygiene
- Telemetry monitoring and 12-lead ECG acquisition skills or willingness to train
- Point of Care testing and specimen collection competency
- Good infection control practices and safe handling of linens and waste
- Accurate documentation and reporting of abnormal findings to nursing staff
- Team-oriented mindset, flexible cross-training, and willingness to precept others
