Roles & Responsibilities

• Administer prescribed medications and accurately document medication administration
• Start and manage IV therapy and perform IV insertions when needed
• Provide wound care and change dressings with attention to infection prevention
• Insert and manage catheters safely and monitor related patient needs
• Monitor and record vital signs, assess patient status, and report adverse reactions promptly
• Use clinical judgment to prioritize care on a 14-bed med-surg unit with a 1:5 ratio
• Maintain thorough, timely documentation and communicate effectively with the care team

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Oklahoma state licensure or applicable compact privileges)
• Med-Surg nursing experience; experience on a 14-bed med-surg unit is a plus
• Comfortable with IV insertion, medication administration, wound care, and catheterization
• Willingness to work 12-hour day shifts and weekend rotations
• Travel nurse experience preferred

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Medication administration best practices and safe documentation
• IV therapy and peripheral IV insertion skills
• Wound care techniques and dressing changes
• Catheter insertion and management
• Patient assessment and monitoring, including interpreting vital signs
• Accurate clinical documentation and use of medical equipment
