Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-acuity CVICU nursing care and coverage for CCU patients with confidence and compassion
• Manage post-op cardiac and complex cardiac patients, including hemodynamic monitoring and vasoactive medication titration
• Collaborate with the Cath Lab teams, including Hybrid Cath Lab cases, to ensure seamless peri-procedural care
• Participate in the call rotation and staffing solutions to support unit needs and patient safety
• Communicate clearly with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams to promote excellent outcomes and reduce transfers out of the community
• Document care thoroughly and maintain certification and competency requirements

Qualifications

• Active Colorado RN license in good standing (Nursys verification required)
• Minimum 3 years RN Critical Care experience required
• Day 0 CVICU experience required
• Current BLS and ACLS through the American Heart Association required; PALS preferred/required for submission
• Experience with CVICU/Critical Care patient population and post-cardiac surgery care
• Willingness to work 12-hour night shifts and participate in rotating weekend and call schedules

Education

• Nursing degree (ADN or BSN) preferred
• Active RN license required

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong CVICU and critical care nursing skills
• Experience in CCU and post-cardiac surgery care
• Familiarity with Cardiac Cath Lab and Hybrid Cath Lab workflows
• Proficient in hemodynamic monitoring, ventilator management, and vasoactive medication administration
• Skilled in telemetry interpretation and rapid assessment of unstable patients
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and crisis management abilities
