Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate labor, delivery, recovery and postpartum care for patients and families
• Perform triage assessments and prioritize care for laboring and postpartum patients
• Monitor fetal status using basic fetal monitoring and intervene per protocol
• Attend deliveries and perform newborn care and stabilization, including neonatal resuscitation (NRP)
• Stabilize high-risk neonates and coordinate transfer when necessary
• Participate in GYN surgical care and assist the team as needed in the OR/LDRP setting
• Document care accurately in the patient record and communicate effectively with the interdisciplinary team
• Educate patients and families on postpartum care, newborn care, and discharge planning

Qualifications

• Current unencumbered Oregon RN license required upon submission
• Healthcare Provider Level BLS required
• AHA ACLS and NRP required
• Basic Fetal Monitoring skills required
• Experience in triage, labor & delivery, postpartum and nursery required
• STABLE preferred; previous experience stabilizing high-risk neonates preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong fetal monitoring and interpretation skills
• Neonatal resuscitation and stabilization techniques
• Triage and critical assessment in LDRP and nursery settings
• Familiarity with GYN surgical care and perioperative nursing in obstetrics
• Excellent patient communication, family-centered care, and teamwork
• Accurate clinical documentation and handoff communication
