Roles & Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive evaluations to identify communication and swallowing needs
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans grounded in evidence-based practice
• Deliver direct speech, language, and swallowing therapy with compassion and skill
• Document patient progress and treatment outcomes accurately and timely
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate holistic care
• Provide family and caregiver education to support carryover and functional outcomes
• Participate in discharge planning and referral as appropriate to ensure continuity of care

Qualifications

• State licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist in Illinois or ability to obtain prior to start
• Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from ASHA preferred
• Active professional liability insurance (or ability to obtain)
• Experience providing evaluations and treatment across pediatric and/or adult populations preferred
• Strong clinical documentation skills and familiarity with common therapy billing practices

Education

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology (required)

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in assessment and treatment of speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders
• Familiarity with AAC options and strategies to support communication access
• Strong interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with patients, families, and clinical teams
• Ability to apply evidence-based interventions and adapt to varied clinical settings
• Proficient documentation and time management to maintain high-quality care
