Roles & Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations to identify communication and swallowing needs
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans grounded in evidence-based practice
- Deliver direct speech, language, and swallowing therapy with compassion and skill
- Document patient progress and treatment outcomes accurately and timely
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate holistic care
- Provide family and caregiver education to support carryover and functional outcomes
- Participate in discharge planning and referral as appropriate to ensure continuity of care
Qualifications
- State licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist in Illinois or ability to obtain prior to start
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from ASHA preferred
- Active professional liability insurance (or ability to obtain)
- Experience providing evaluations and treatment across pediatric and/or adult populations preferred
- Strong clinical documentation skills and familiarity with common therapy billing practices
Education
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology (required)
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in assessment and treatment of speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders
- Familiarity with AAC options and strategies to support communication access
- Strong interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with patients, families, and clinical teams
- Ability to apply evidence-based interventions and adapt to varied clinical settings
- Proficient documentation and time management to maintain high-quality care
