Roles & Responsibilities

• Circulate in the operating room, ensuring a safe, sterile environment for each procedure
• Anticipate the surgical team’s needs and provide timely instruments, supplies, and equipment
• Coordinate room turnover and maintain accurate counts of sponges, sharps, and instruments
• Document perioperative care clearly and accurately in the patient record
• Advocate for patient safety, comfort, and dignity throughout the surgical experience
• Communicate effectively with surgeons, anesthesia, and sterile team members to support efficient workflows

Qualifications

• Current California Registered Nurse (RN) license required
• BLS certification required
• TB clearance completed within the last 12 months required
• Experience or training as an OR circulator or perioperative nurse (core role expectation)
• Ability to work Monday-Friday day shifts and participate in shared on-call as needed
• Clear professional communication skills and teamwork mindset

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of perioperative aseptic technique and sterile field management
• Familiarity with surgical instrumentation and OR workflows
• Strong patient advocacy and safety orientation
• Accurate clinical documentation and time management skills
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced surgical environment and supporting multidisciplinary teams
