Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, evidence-based nursing care to long term care residents, prioritizing safety and dignity
- Perform thorough patient assessments, monitor changes, and escalate concerns in a timely manner
- Administer medications, treatments, and IV therapies accurately while documenting care in the chart
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and execute individualized care plans
- Educate residents and families on care goals and discharge planning as appropriate
- Support crisis response needs during this rapid response assignment, bringing calm and clinical skill to urgent situations
Qualifications
- Current Alaska Registered Nurse (RN) license required
- BLS required
- ACLS required
- PALS required
- Experience in long term care or related nursing preferred
- Ability to start assignment on January 19, 2026 (assignment runs through May 4, 2026)
Education
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN preferred)
- Active RN license in Alaska
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong resident assessment and clinical observation skills
- Medication administration and documentation best practices
- Familiarity with long term care workflows and regulatory expectations
- Effective communication and teamwork with interdisciplinary teams
- Prioritization and time management during 12-hour shifts
- Basic EHR/charting competency
