Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, evidence-based Labor & Delivery nursing care for birthing patients
• Manage Post-Partum and Baby Unit patient care, ensuring safety and prompt newborn assessments
• Monitor maternal and fetal status, recognize and escalate changes in clinical condition
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care and transitions
• Float to other units and support overflow from the Progressive Care Unit as needed
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient education clearly and promptly

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in Vermont
• Clinical experience or demonstrated competency in Labor & Delivery, Post-Partum, and Baby Unit care
• Ability and willingness to float to other units, including supporting Progressive Care Unit overflow
• Strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and teamwork orientation

Knowledge & Skills

• Labor & Delivery nursing principles and postpartum maternal care
• Newborn assessment and basic neonatal care in the Baby Unit
• Familiarity with monitoring maternal/fetal status and escalating concerns
• Comfortable working in a critical access hospital environment with variable patient acuity
• Effective documentation and interdisciplinary communication skills
