Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare, administer and accurately document prescribed medications
• Perform IV starts and catheter insertions with skill and care
• Provide wound care and change dressings according to best practices
• Closely monitor patient vital signs and report concerns promptly
• Operate and adjust specialized medical equipment and interpret readings
• Recognize and report adverse medication reactions in a timely manner
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to deliver patient-centered care
• Maintain thorough, timely charting to support continuity of care

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license — Oklahoma licensure required or compact RN eligibility
• Experience in Med-Surg nursing with comfort managing a 1:5 patient ratio
• Demonstrated ability with medication administration, IV starts, catheter insertion and wound care
• Night shift and weekend availability as required by the schedule
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; ACLS preferred or as required by facility

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN)
• BSN preferred but ADN considered with strong Med-Surg experience

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong medication administration knowledge and safe dosing practices
• Proficient in IV initiation and peripheral catheter management
• Competent wound assessment and dressing techniques
• Accurate vital signs monitoring and clinical documentation
• Good critical thinking, prioritization and time management on 12-hour nights
• Effective communication and teamwork in a fast-paced Med-Surg unit
• Familiarity with electronic medical records and bedside charting
