Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality critical care for a mixed 19-bed ICU, including neuro, medical, trauma, vascular, and cardiothoracic patients
• Float between ICU and PMCU (step-down) to maintain safe staffing and continuity of care
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care using sound clinical judgment
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate complex care and smooth transitions
• Document patient care accurately in Epic and complete pre-assessment Epic requirements
• Maintain patient safety and 3:1 ratio standards in the step-down environment

Qualifications

• Current California RN license required
• Epic experience within the last year required to pass the Epic pre-assessment
• ICU and step-down clinical experience, comfortable floating between units
• Experience with trauma care is preferred; TNCC preferred
• Comfort working night shifts in a fast-paced critical care setting

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong critical care and step-down nursing knowledge
• Proficiency with Epic EHR workflows and documentation
• Ability to manage acutely ill patients across neuro, medical, trauma, vascular, and cardiothoracic specialties
• Skilled in patient assessment, monitoring, and escalation of care
• Flexible and adaptable team player who can float between units
