Shift Type: Day shift, three 12-hour day shifts per week (including every other weekend). Typical day shift window: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM; schedule is full-time for the 13-week contract

Candidate Pay Rate: $68 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, patient-centered care for adult and pediatric patients on the Med/Surg unit
- Perform thorough assessments and implement nursing care plans independently with minimal supervision
- Administer medications, monitor patient responses, and document accurately in the medical record
- Collaborate with the hospitalist and interdisciplinary team to coordinate safe, efficient patient care
- Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and discharge plans
- Respond promptly to changes in patient condition and escalate concerns to the team as needed
- Support a positive unit environment by mentoring peers and participating in shift handoffs
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
- Minimum 3 years of nursing experience, with Med/Surg experience preferred
- Current ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications (required)
- Comfortable working independently and making clinical decisions with minimal supervision
- Prior experience on 12-hour shifts and ability to work every other weekend
- Strong assessment, IV/medication administration, and documentation skills
Education
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN)
Knowledge & Skills
- Solid understanding of Med/Surg nursing principles and adult/pediatric care
- Ability to triage and prioritize multiple patients safely
- Skilled in patient assessment, care planning, and clinical judgement
- Proficient with electronic medical records and accurate clinical documentation
- Effective communication and teamwork skills with patients, families, and providers
- Familiarity with acute care protocols, medication administration, and basic critical care
