Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 6:30 AM - 5:00 PM (Day); on-call up to 2 weeknights and 2 weekend days with a 45-minute callback, rotating as needed. OT available.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess patients to determine mental, physical and spiritual needs and document findings clearly
• Plan, implement and evaluate individualized plans of care in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team
• Perform endoscopy procedures (colonoscopy, EGD, ERCP, PEG tube, bronchoscopy, esophageal stent and pain procedures) with skill and attention to safety
• Administer and monitor moderate sedation, recognizing and responding to changes in patient condition
• Admit and discharge patients in the perioperative environment with thorough patient education and clear instructions
• Maintain complete and accurate medical records using EPIC charting
• Communicate professionally to manage conflict and contribute to a healthy workplace
• Participate in continuing education to keep skills current and support quality care

Qualifications

• Current Illinois Registered Nurse license (required)
• Current CPR/BLS certification (required)
• Clinical experience in endoscopy with proficiency in colonoscopy, EGD, ERCP, PEG tube, bronchoscopy, esophageal stent and related pain procedures
• Demonstrated ability to provide moderate sedation and monitor patients safely
• Experience with EPIC or similar EHR for charting
• Comfort admitting and discharging patients in a perioperative setting
• Willingness to float to other facilities and participate in on-call rotations

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong patient assessment and clinical judgment skills
• Proficiency in perioperative nursing practices (admit/discharge)
• Competence in EPIC charting and maintaining accurate medical records
• Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for coordinated care
• Infection control and procedural safety for endoscopy environments
• Effective communication and conflict management in a fast-paced unit
