Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess patients to determine mental, physical, and spiritual needs and develop individualized plans of care
• Perform and assist with endoscopy procedures including colonoscopy, EGD, ERCP, PEG tube placement, bronchoscopy, esophageal stent procedures, and pain procedures
• Administer and monitor moderate sedation safely and effectively, recognizing and reporting changes in patient status
• Complete timely and accurate EPIC charting, perioperative admissions, and discharges
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary healthcare team to implement and evaluate patient care plans
• Provide clear explanations and instructions to patients and their families to promote understanding and recovery
• Maintain complete and accurate medical records and meet core measure responsibilities
• Contribute to a healthy workplace by managing conflict professionally and participating in continuing education

Qualifications

• Current Illinois Registered Nurse license (required)
• Current CPR/BLS certification (required)
• Proven endoscopy experience with colonoscopy, EGD, ERCP, PEG tube, bronchoscopy, esophageal stent, and pain procedures
• Competence in performing moderate sedation and perioperative admissions/discharges
• Experience with EPIC charting and strong clinical documentation skills
• Willingness to float to other facilities and participate in on-call rotations
• Availability for overtime when needed and a team-oriented mindset

Education

• Not specified; active Illinois Registered Nurse license required

Knowledge & Skills
