Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality emergency nursing care across the Main ED, ED Fast Track and ED Observation Unit
• Perform rapid triage and patient assessments and initiate appropriate treatment plans
• Rotate through triage, quick registration, Covid tent and entry screening as assigned
• Administer medications and conscious sedation per protocol and monitor patient responses
• Support quick registration and throughput to keep patients moving and care efficient
• Assist with COVID testing and immunization clinics when needed
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers and the multidisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes
• Maintain accurate documentation and handoffs while working in a fast-paced environment

Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted RN license (state required for assignment)
• Minimum 2 years recent RN experience in Emergency Nursing required
• American Heart Association BLS and ACLS required
• PALS or ENPC and TNCC required
• Conscious sedation certification required (facility offers credential after confirmation; $105 fee)
• Comfortable floating between ED areas and performing role-appropriate tasks
• Ability to work 12-hour night shifts, holidays and weekends

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN)
• BSN preferred when available

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong triage skills and rapid patient assessment
• Experience with emergency interventions, IV therapy and acute care procedures
• Familiarity with ED Fast Track and ED Observation Unit workflows
• Ability to perform quick registration and work efficiently under pressure
• Infection control practices and COVID testing/immunization workflows
• Excellent communication, teamwork and patient advocacy skills
• Adaptability to changing assignments and patient volumes
