Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess patients of all ages quickly and accurately in a busy emergency setting
- Lead care planning and implement interventions to stabilize and treat ED patients
- Evaluate patient responses and adjust plans to ensure safe, effective outcomes
- Document thoroughly in EPIC and communicate with the care team for seamless transitions
- Function independently on Med/Surg and Emergency duties as needed in a Critical Access environment
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license — ready to practice and proud of it
- Emergency Department and Med/Surg experience required; Critical Access experience is a plus
- EPIC experience is required for documentation and charting
- Current BLS required; ACLS and PALS preferred or available soon
- Comfortable practicing independently and managing a wide variety of patient presentations
Education
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN)
- Additional specialty certifications welcome
Knowledge & Skills
- Patient assessment, care planning, intervention, and evaluation across pediatric to geriatric populations
- Strong ED triage and acute care skills
- Electronic charting proficiency with EPIC
- Excellent clinical judgment, adaptability, and teamwork in a small-hospital setting
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and wear many hats in a Critical Access role
