Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality neuro/trauma critical care for adult patients in a Level II trauma NT/SICU
• Monitor and manage patients with ICP monitors, CRRT, and lumbar drains with vigilance
• Deliver timely, evidence-based interventions in acute and rapidly changing situations
• Document patient care accurately and efficiently in EPIC
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and interdisciplinary team members to develop and execute care plans
• Serve as a confident responder in trauma activations and critical events
• Float to Cardiovascular Unit, Telemetry Care Unit, ICU/CCU or Med-Surg when needed and integrate quickly with those teams

Qualifications

• Current CA RN license required
• Minimum 5 years of acute critical care nursing experience
• Required: Level II trauma critical care experience
• EPIC charting experience required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Experience with CRRT, ICP monitoring, and lumbar drains strongly preferred
• Comfort and experience floating to CVU, Telemetry, ICU/CCU or Med-Surg units

Knowledge & Skills

• Expertise in neuro/trauma critical care and acute patient assessment
• Proficiency with EPIC electronic charting
• Skilled in CRRT management and ICP monitoring
• Familiarity with cardiovascular and telemetry monitoring
• Strong critical thinking, prioritization and rapid decision-making
• Excellent communication and teamwork in high-stakes environments
• Ability to manage multiple complex patients at a 2:1 ratio
