Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide continuous airway management and expert ventilator support for patients across adult, pediatric and neonatal populations
- Manage mechanical and non-invasive ventilation (including PB 980, PB 840, V60 and transport vents) to optimize respiratory outcomes
- Perform thorough patient assessments and deliver timely interventions to improve breathing and stability
- Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to develop and adjust respiratory care plans
- Deliver high-quality CPR and emergency airway management when needed
- Safely manage patient transports using Para Pac Transport Vent and maintain accurate documentation
- Use Pyxis medication management and computerized charting to ensure safe, compliant medication and record keeping
- Adhere to infection control policies and facility requirements (including flu vaccination or approved exemption)
Qualifications
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) required
- State of Hawaii respiratory therapist license required by start (candidates may apply prior to start; current HI license preferred)
- BLS and ACLS required; PALS and NRP preferred
- Minimum 2 years of respiratory therapy experience caring for adult, pediatric and neonatal patients
- Comfortable working 12-hour day shifts and participating in transport and high-acuity care
- Proof of flu vaccination or facility-approved medical/religious exemption required prior to start
Knowledge & Skills
- Ventilator management and mechanical ventilation expertise
- Non-invasive ventilation and airway management skills
- Experience with PB 980, PB 840, V60 and Para Pac Transport Vent
- Proficiency with Pyxis medication systems and computerized charting
- Strong patient assessment skills across adult, pediatric and neonatal populations
- CPR competency and emergency response experience
- Clear communicator who works well with physicians and interdisciplinary teams
- Detail-oriented with solid documentation and medication administration practices
