Roles & Responsibilities
- Treat patients under the direction of the Physical Therapist, delivering compassionate, hands-on care
- Record daily treatment notes and weekly progress notes in accordance with PT Board requirements
- Assist in maintaining the therapy department and ensuring a clean, safe treatment environment
- Participate in patient care and rehabilitation conferences to help shape care plans
- Train and support restorative aides and nursing staff in patient maintenance programs
- Lead in-service training sessions to elevate team skills and compliance
- Communicate patient progress and plans clearly with supervisors and interdisciplinary team members
- Report and coordinate repair of equipment to ensure safe, effective treatment delivery
Qualifications
- Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant in the state of California, license must be maintained in good standing
- Proficiency with documentation and clinic software such as Casamba and PointClickCare
- Ability to meet continuing education requirements per state practice
- Strong communication skills and the ability to relate positively with patients, families, and colleagues
- Experience with patient care, treatment documentation, and rehabilitation practices
Education
- Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (state licensure required)
Knowledge & Skills
- Patient care and rehabilitation techniques
- Treatment documentation and progress note best practices
- Electronic medical record systems including Casamba and PointClickCare
- Caregiver training and restorative aide coaching
- In-service training delivery and staff education
- Basic equipment maintenance and reporting procedures
- Clear, professional communication with interdisciplinary teams
